Open Season is a period of time when members of the postal and federal workforce have a chance to review and update health insurance benefits for the upcoming year. This year, Open Season runs November 11 to December 9, 2024.
2025 automatic enrollment for postal workers
Welcome to the new Postal Service Health Benefits (PSHB) Program
If you are a member of APWU Health Plan and want to keep your plan for 2025, you will automatically be enrolled in your plan under PSHB. You don’t need to take any action.
- If you plan to move to Self Plus One or Self & Family coverage, you need to change your enrollment. This change will not happen automatically.
- You can also enroll in a different PSHB plan during Open Season, if you choose.

Make the most of your Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB)
If you are a member of APWU Health Plan and want to keep your coverage, you don’t need to do anything during Open Season. Your current FEHB health coverage will automatically renew.
- If you plan to move to Self Plus One or Self & Family coverage, you need to change your enrollment. This change will not happen automatically.
