NEW FOR 2009

Benefits are enhanced for both the Consumer Driven Option and High Option. Take a look at what's new for 2009:

NEW HEARING BENEFIT

New for 2009, we've added benefits for diagnostic hearing tests and hearing aids are covered every three years up to $1,500

NEW MAXIMUM FOR PRESCRIPTION DRUGS

For both the Consumer Driven Option and High Option we've added new savings on prescription drugs beginning in 2009:

  • There's a new maximum of $200 per prescription when you use a Network Retail Pharmacy
  • When you use the Network Mail Order Pharmacy, the maximum is $600 per prescription

If you are a new associate member, we'll waive $30 of $35 dues for 2009.

Postal Service employees in non-APWU bargaining units may enroll in the APWU Health Plan as Associate Members and pay only a $35 per year Associate Membership fee.

  • No copayments; no upfront deductibles; no referral needed to see a specialist
  • Dental and eye care coverage (up to $400/year for self only or $800/year for a family) including a dental network with opportunity for discounted services

  • Prescription program with no deductible, low copays, and now a coinsurance maximum when you use network pharmacies
  • Pick your own doctors and hospitals in or out of network
