California Wildfires

APWU Health Plan will relax plan requirements to assist members in specific California zip codes impacted by the wildfires.
  • Hospital precertification will be waived for those members who require hospitalization for emergency care.
  • Emergency hospitalizations will be covered at PPO-level benefits for victims taken to non-PPO treatment centers.
  • Additional supplies and medications. The Health Plan will waive the retail refill limitation so that members do not need to use the mail order service for refills, lost or destroyed medications.
For questions or concerns, members of the High Option may call 1-800/222-2798; and members of the Consumer Driven Option may call 1-866/333-4648.
