Request prior approval or precertification

To prevent your benefits from being reduced, request prior approval or precertification for types of medical care listed in Section 3 of your Plan brochure. Call UnitedHealthcare 24/7 at least two business days before admission or before receiving services:

Children up to age 26 are eligible for health coverage under a parent’s Self & Family enrollment:

  • Married children are allowed to be covered
  • There are no dependency or residency requirements
  • A child is not required to be a student
  • A child is not required to have prior or current insurance coverage
